Qiushi

Qiushi is an academy building complex designed for a university campus in Hangzhou, China. The complex holds small and medium academic talks, conferences and exhibitions. Based on the earlier Qiushi Academy, the design combines modern functions with traditional Chinese architectural form. Staggered buildings around a courtyard follow the topography and water system of the site. Reinforced concrete replaces brick and timber, and a long-span truss structure creates a lecture hall without columns. Reflective coated glass under the eaves brings more daylight into the interior.

Chiesa Diruta is a proposal for the transformation of a ruined Renaissance church located at Grottole, Italy into a vibrant Cultural Center consisting of a Concert Hall and a Municipal Library. Ggaedok

Ggaedok is a brand identity for a series of Korean language study supplements. The name Ggaedok is an acronym of the Korean phrase Ggaewooja Dokhaeryuk, which refers to awakening confidence and reading comprehension. The logo combines the name with quotation marks, chosen because their shape resembles Korean consonants and vowels. Color foils in selected Pantone colors highlight parts of the quotation marks, and matte coating increases their visibility. Characters printed in the vocabulary book and the reading comprehension book add interest for students.

Jinaga

Jinaga is a contactless subway pass system created for passengers with disabilities and for elderly passengers. The system consists of a small key fob, worn as a necklace, and a module attached to the ticket gate. The gate opens automatically when a passenger carrying the key fob passes through, so card tagging is not needed. Recognition uses low frequency and radio frequency signals, in the manner of a car smart key, which limits reading errors. The attachable module upgrades a regular ticket gate to a smart pass gate, and passenger information is sent to the station office.
